Authority site is basically a site that is well established and has a huge influence.

If you want to rank certain a specific keyword, then you can use anchor text backlinks. Usually people will put the keyword as the text. Search engine will use the text as a hint of what your site is all about. The search engine likes it if the website and the text are connected to each other. It will give more importance and boost the ranking in the search engine.
•Relevant text
The text here refers to the content around your link. So it is better to build backlinks to your website on a website that is relevant to yours. If yours is about golf, then putting a link on a music website will not be relevant. Whether it will affect your site negatively if the link is not on the related website is still debated, but why takes the risk?
