Elcom's Military Synth & Oscillators Product Line

Elcom Technologies provides custom modular microwave frequency synthesizers and phase locked DRO oscillators for defense and commercial applications where leading edge performance in phase noise, small size and/or fast switching speed are of paramount importance. Our technology has been integrated into ECM, ESM, SAR, FCS platforms worldwide. In-house HALT/HASS testing and hermetically sealed ruggedized packaging allows even the most demanding application to benefit from our performance advantages. Our proprietary circuit topologies and advanced PLL techniques and algorithms can provide a spurious free dynamic range of <-80 dBc, the fastest switching speeds, and frequency step sizes down to 1 Hz. These technology advantages also allow smaller form factors, reduced weight and lower power consumption. Whether it is in the back of a Humvee, or on a UAV at 30,000 feet, our design and manufacturing know-how can provide products that meet or exceed your requirements.

Technology

Indirect PLL Based Frequency Synthesizers:

50 to 250 microsecond switching speed, system dependent
Wide band frequency coverage - up to 0.5 to 18 GHz in one unit
Very low phase noise: -110 dBc at 10 KHz offset, for a 10 GHz output
Fast pulse, AM and FM modulation

Fast Direct Frequency Synthesizers:

Products

RS-1000

The single-loop RS Series PLL Synthesizers employ Elcom’s proprietary design architecture to provide low phase noise and fast switching speed, <50 microseconds, in a compact ruggedized configuration. These synthesizers maintain specified performance under conditions of vibration up to and exceeding 6 G RMS. Operating base plate temperature range is 55°C to +85°C.

The RS Series PLL Synthesizers are ideal for the LO in spread-spectrum military airborne and ground based communications systems. They have application in many types of radar and ECM systems and in other types of communications systems.

RS-WMFS

The RS-WMFS is a wide band military synthesizer, offering bands from 1-23 GHz in bands up to 6 GHz wide, and features step sizes of less than 1 Hz. The unit also features a switching speed of less than 1 ms, low spurious (-60) and low power consumption (10 watts typical). This small package is hermetically sealed and ruggedized for military application. Typical phase noise is -85 dBc @ 100 KHz offset @ 10 GHz.
