Elcom designs, manufactures and markets key microwave products, used in ultra-high-capacity fiber optic networks, typically for undersea cables with capacities of 10 Gbps to 40 Gbps, but increasingly with terrestrial lines as well. The modules employ a proprietary technology to generate phase-stable, low jitter clock signals. These features allow operation with minimal error seconds. We are able to customize a variety of other products for this market according to customer's needs, such as DRO based clock recovery modules.

SONET/SDH Clock Oscillator COS-192

Voltage tuned DRO for OC-192

The COS-192 clock oscillator is designed to meet the requirements of most critical timing application such as SONET/SDH systems operating from 10 Gbit/s to 40 Gbit/s. Elcom COS-192 consumes less than 1 watt of DC power (50% less than competing units). This low power dissipation significantly improves unit MTBF due to lower junction temperature of active devices. The fundamental bipolar oscillator design that is utilized in these units, assures the lowest jitter and phase noise performance. Elcom's innovative Zero Phase Hits Technology assures a stable signal over the lifetime of the oscillator.

Synthesized Clock Frequency Translator

Elcom Technologies' Clock Translators employ proprietary technology to ensure a phase stable output clock and a smooth transition between Master and Slave operation. In the Slave mode the output frequency phase locks to the input clock, while in the Master mode the output signal is derived from an internally stable OCXO. The unit is designed for low power dissipation thus decreasing semiconductors junction temperatures and improving system reliability.

Continuously Variable Speed Clock Recovery

Elcom technologies' miniature Variable Speed Clock Recovery Module (VSCR-192), operate from 9.95 to 12.5 Gbps. The unit employs Elcom's proprietary low phase noise VCO that spans the full frequency band and digital phase lock loop, that enables reliable phase/frequency acquisition.
