Satellite Telecommunications Networks

Elcom designs, manufactures and markets microwave frequency synthesizers that are incorporated into the converters in satellite ground stations. The satellites are used to provide extremely high-capacity networking over long distances, providing an alternative to fiber optic cables.

Elcom's single-module synthesizers, which are used in communications systems operating between 1 GHz and 23 GHz, are small and consume
one-third the power of competing products, so they generate less heat. This means they result in less ground station downtime, a significant factor with multi-million-dollar installations, and can be operated from airplanes and ground vehicles. They are also low microphonics and ultra-low phase noise.
