INSTRUMENTATION Elcom designs and produces some of the most sophisticated broadband frequency synthesizers available in the market today. Design architectures include products utilizing either "Direct Analog Synthesis" or "Indirect Phase Locked Loop Synthesis" depending on the performance requirements. Great attention was given to achieving the ultimate performance in switching speed, phase noise and spectral purity. The broadband performance figures covering .05 – 18GHz offer switching speeds from 200nsec to 100usec with spurious performance at –70dBc and a noise floor reaching –150dBc at 100Mhz offset with an 18GHz carrier. Standard units in both the UFS and IBS product lines are modular in design to allow for greater flexibility in meeting customer requirement in both electrical and mechanical configurations. Some of the electrical options available include Full Band Phase Coherency, Ultra WBFM modulation and IF injection for special customer modulation requirements. The standard package format is in a 19" rack configurations, however VME, VXI and PCI formats are also available. In addition, Elcom also produces specialized broadband Tuners and Downconverters that cover .05-18GHz and are companion products to our synthesizers. The Tuners and synthesizers are finding wide acceptance in the ATE and synthetic instrumentation markets where the requirements for both the stimulus and response instruments demand the ultimate in performance.
